Environment Senior Advisor

Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Advisor to support environmental governance and drive continuous improvement across our Pilbara operations and projects.

This role plays a key part in maintaining environmental management systems, managing conditioned environmental management plans, supporting compliance obligations, and enhancing environmental performance across the business.

Working closely with a range of stakeholders, you will lead environmental management system improvements, support the ongoing optimisation of Enablon, and coordinate environmental communications initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive environmental professional with strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience within the resources sector.

Key Responsibilities

Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of Enablon, ensuring environmental documentation and compliance obligations are accurately maintained.
Manage conditioned environmental management plans, including their development, review and regulatory submission.
Maintain and continuously improve the Pilbara environmental management system framework across operations and projects.
Coordinate and support the delivery of environmental communications and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an environmental role within the resources sector.
Strong knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of the Pilbara environment will be highly regarded.
