The Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), Invitro Fertilisation (IVF) Service will support the development, delivery and implementation of IVF clinical and research service. The CNC – IVF Service will work with fertility, haematology and oncology multidisciplinary teams to ensure access to appropriate and timely IVF care and research.
The CNC IVF Service will be a member of the Fertility and Research Centre and future fertility team and work across Randwick Campus with fertility service nursing, medical, allied health, pathology and technical staff and cancer health care professionals to ensure the coordination and expert delivery of IVF Service and research is provided in a timely fashion.
The CNC IVF Service will be responsible to the Nursing Clinical Co-Director Gynaecological Services and the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services, with a professional reporting line to the Nursing Unit Manager - Fertility and Research Centre, Medical Director – Fertility and Research Centre, and will liaise and collaborate with key staff including Gynaecology and Oncology medical staff, CNC- Fertility Coordinator and Clinical Research.

Selection Criteria:
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Minimum of five years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience in IVF fertility care and a relevant post graduate qualification.
- Experience in clinical research, in the fertility and/or women’s health setting, and experience with literature searching, data entry and basic report writing.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
- Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems including Microsoft computer packages (Word, Excel etc.).
