About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Lead – Technology Asset Management to join our Workplace Technologies team and take ownership of the lifecycle management of Origin’s hardware asset portfolio. This is a role of real scale and complexity, supporting approximately 8,000 employees across 135 sites and managing a technology asset portfolio valued at approximately $7–10 million.The portfolio spans a broad range of workplace hardware, including:
- Laptops and desktops
- Mobile phones and tablets
- Printers and print services
- Audio Visual and Video Conferencing / Meeting Room Technology
- Other end-user computing hardware and peripherals
You’ll join a mature environment with established processes, suppliers and services. Your focus will be on ensuring the portfolio continues to operate effectively while identifying opportunities to improve asset lifecycle management, forecasting, governance, reporting and automation.This role will suit someone who has worked across a large enterprise hardware estate and brings breadth of experience across asset management, commercial management, suppliers, lifecycle planning and service management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Origin’s hardware assets, including laptops, desktops, mobiles, tablets, print devices, meeting room technology and associated hardware across multiple locations.
- Oversee ordering, deployment, refresh, retirement and inventory, maintaining appropriate stock levels, device-to-user ratios and accurate asset information within the CMDB/ITSM environment.
- Manage internal and external suppliers, leasing arrangements and commercial relationships, ensuring hardware, services, reporting and new products are delivered effectively.
- Own financial management and planning across the portfolio, including budget oversight, forecasting and reporting for leased and purchased assets.
- Drive governance and continuous improvement across hardware asset management, maintaining lifecycle processes and documentation while identifying opportunities to automate workflows, reduce manual handling and improve overall asset management.
What you'll bring
You’ll bring strong Hardware Asset Management experience gained within a large and complex organisation, with the ability to manage both the operational detail and longer-term lifecycle strategy.
We’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing a large and diverse hardware asset portfolio, including laptops, desktops, mobiles, tablets, print and meeting room technology.
- Strong experience across the full hardware asset lifecycle, including large-scale refresh programs, lifecycle planning and inventory management.
- Proven capability managing external suppliers, commercial relationships and financials, including budgets, forecasting and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Technology, Procurement, Finance and the broader business, supported by strong process and documentation capability.
- Experience driving continuous improvement and automation within asset management; experience with ITAM/ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
