Details: Digital Canberra is seeking an experienced infrastructure leader to join the Strategic Asset Management Program as Director, Platforms, Virtualisation and Infrastructure.
This role leads the technical delivery of major infrastructure refresh and transformation initiatives across ACT Government. You will oversee the design, implementation, migration and transition of enterprise hosting, virtualisation and compute platforms that support critical government services.
Working with architects, engineers, project teams, operational stakeholders and industry partners, you will provide technical leadership across infrastructure modernisation activities, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, supportable and aligned with future business needs. The role provides significant opportunity to influence platform strategy, lifecycle planning, capacity management and technology renewal outcomes across government.
We are looking for a collaborative and technically capable leader with experience delivering enterprise infrastructure, virtualisation or data centre transformation initiatives within complex environments.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

This position requires a national security clearance at the baseline/ negative vetting 1 (NV1) level issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). As such, the incumbent must be an Australian citizen, be willing to undergo the security clearance process, and have an ability to obtain and maintain the relevant clearance as a requirement of continuing employment.

Experience delivering infrastructure refresh, migration or data centre transition activities within large enterprise or government environments is highly desirable.

Experience with enterprise backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring and automation tooling in virtualised or private cloud environments is highly desirable.

VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV, VCP-VVF Administrator/Support or VCP-VCF Administrator) certifications are highly desirable.

Understanding of, or certification in, IT service management frameworks such as ITIL is desirable.

A current driver's licence is highly desirable.
