Job Description

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Health Promotion Practitioner to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary teams in a full time, fixed-term capacity.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Deliver community-based health promotion initiatives that improve food environments and support healthier communities through prevention-focused programs and partnerships.
Build meaningful partnerships that drive equitable access to healthy eating opportunities.
Use data, evidence, and community insights to shape impactful health promotion programs.
Champion collaboration across local government, health, education and community sectors.
Deliver a flagship partnership project with Whitehorse City Council focused on food access and sustainable local food systems.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and collective action to achieve lasting health outcomes.
Represent healthAbility across networks, working groups and community forums to champion health promotion priorities and collaborative systems change.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills & Experience

Recent and relevant experience in the design and delivery of health promotion and primary prevention initiatives within a Community Health or related setting
Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply, complex systems thinking
Experience in developing partners and engaging and influencing and range of stakeholders/settings
Ability to thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment and adjust to changing priorities
Ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy as well as part of a team
Ability to listen deeply and question assumptions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
(Desirable) Understanding of the Whitehorse local government area
