What’s the role?
This is a 24 x 7 shift worker role working in a critical tier 3 data centre as part of an operations team that is dedicated to our clients’ success. This hands-on position requires an electrical or HVAC tradesperson who possesses excellent electrical & HVAC knowledge including a broad understanding of, and the ability to operate all building systems including, Diesel Generator, DRUPS, BDL, UPS, STS, BMS, Fire, Cooling Tower, Chiller, HVAC plant and numerous other systems.
The position is an average 38 hours over a 6-week roster, working in a very attractive rotating shift roster with an excellent remuneration package and team engagement. Reporting to the Operations Manager, some of your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Manage site operations to ensure no unplanned downtime of critical building services
- Monitoring & Operation of all building systems and plant
- Management of contractors onsite including inductions, permit issuing, SWMS reviews and ensuring compliance with qualifications, WHS, environmental and all other statutory obligations
- Carry out complex switching operations
- Isolation of equipment to create a safe work environment using strict lockout / tagout procedures
- Carry out load reviews
- Reporting functions
- Review & develop process
- Ensure building adheres to all statutory compliance
What do I need?
To be successful in the role, you must be customer focussed, self-motivated, have excellent communications skills, high attention to detail and adhere to strict process. You will also possess:
- Australian and/or New Zealand issued Electrical or HVAC trade qualifications
- Excellent fault-finding ability
- Abilities to work as a Team and Independently
- Ability to operate under pressure
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as well as the requirement to become qualified
- Data centre experience or working in critical environments
- A thorough knowledge, understanding of and adherence to safety systems and regulations
- Excellent computer skills & competence in Microsoft Office suite of products
