Role Description:

As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing effective contracting arrangements with qualified suppliers to meet the organisation’s cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.

This is a 12 month fixed term position.

Core Duties:

Analyse Production requirements and RFQ demand in a high-volume environment.
Raise, process, and issue high volumes of purchase orders (POs).
Monitor PO status from creation through delivery and invoice payment.
Develop productive supplier relationships to improve responsiveness and performance.
Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant KPIs.
Manage purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority.

Essential Skills:

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
Experience/knowledge of subcontracts in fabrication will be highly regarded.
Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
Previous experience with Aveva and/or Oracle will be highly regarded.
Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
