The opportunity we have available
Organised within the Chief Operating Officer Group within the department, Information Technology & Data Division’s (ITDD) purpose is to connect people, data, and technology, empowering the department to excel.
ITDD is responsible for the consolidated provision and support of stable and secure IT Systems, applications and services to all department users across all States and Territories, including Indian Ocean Territories and Norfolk Island, as well as supporting seven Ministerial offices, and coordination with portfolio entities.
ITDD provides the digital collaboration and communications tools necessary to connect a geographically dispersed workforce and to optimise hybrid working arrangements. We manage industry and public facing digital systems, deliver desktop services, oversee cyber security, and provide data, AI, and information management advice to over 2,400 staff, supporting over 30 office locations across Australia.
The Digital Solutions Section within the Digital Delivery Branch (DDB) is responsible for project delivery and sustainment of a variety of digital solutions, including:
- Reporting and Program Management (RPM)
The Departments Infrastructure Investment Program Management and Reporting solution
- Road Vehicle Regulator (ROVER)
The system which supports the regulatory activities associated with the Road Vehicle Standards Act (RVS Act)
- Regulator Application for Compliance, Enforcement, Calculation And Reporting (RACECAR)
The system which supports the regulatory activities associated with the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES)
- Online System for Classification Administration (OSCA)
Supporting the Classification of Publications, Fims and Computer Games
- Airport Building Controller Online (ABCO)
Manages and tracks the progress of applications, fee payments and other information associated with building activities on airports
We are looking for self-motivated, experienced IT professionals with extensive knowledge and experience in quality assurance and testing of Digital Solutions developed utilising a range of Microsoft technologies and services.
What you will do
As a Test Lead in the Digital Solutions section, you will be working in a small multidisciplinary development team responsible for developing and maintaining digital solutions across a range of diverse departmental programs.
Key responsibilities:
- Test planning, design and execution
- Defect triage and management
- Test reporting
- Assisting with User Acceptance Testing
- Assisting with the 3 technical support for Digital Solutions
- Participate in regular sprint planning, showcases, retrospectives and other agile/scrum activities as required.

- Demonstrated experience in the planning, design, execution and reporting for the testing of complex business applications utilising some or all of the following technologies and services:
- .NET
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Azure DevOps
- Azure B2C
- Other Azure services
- REST APIs
- Prepare estimates for testing activities and tasks to inform Project and BAU planning.
- Communicate effectively with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, utilising various written and verbal techniques.
- Remain flexible and be adaptable to pivot accordingly to shifting organisational priorities.

Desirable requirements
Tertiary qualifications in an ICT discipline, relevant industry certifications or demonstrated industry experience will be highly regarded.
