The Adelaide Entertainment Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Kitchen Attendant Team Leader to join our team on a casual basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Attendant, Stewarding Supervisor or hospitality professional looking to step up into a leadership role and further develop their people management and operational skills within one of South Australia’s leading venue organisations.
About Adelaide Venue Management
Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) is South Australia’s leading provider of venue management services. It is responsible for operating three of Adelaide’s most iconic venues: Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC); Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC); and Coopers Stadium (CS); in addition to functions and events at The Drive (TD).
About the Role
This hands-on leadership role offers flexibility, variety and the excitement of major events, where no two days are the same.
As the Kitchen Attendant Team Leader, you will lead the stewarding team and play a critical role in ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standards. You will support chefs and event teams while contributing to the successful delivery of events across Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Coopers Stadium and The Drive.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supervising the kitchen stewarding team.
Coordinating the movement of equipment and food between venues.
Overseeing the cleaning of crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment.
Maintaining exceptional hygiene and food safety standards.
Managing chemical usage, waste processes and cleaning procedures.
Inspecting cleaned items to ensure quality standards are met.
Supporting compliance with the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System.
Monitoring labour costs and driving operational efficiencies.
Assisting with event setup and service delivery.
About You
You are a confident and reliable leader who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
You may already have supervisory experience within hospitality, healthcare, mining or large-scale catering environments, or you may be an experienced Kitchen Attendant or stewarding professional ready to take the next step in your career.
To be successful, you will bring:
Experience working in high-volume kitchen or stewarding environments.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience, or a demonstrated ability to lead and support teams.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
The ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing demands.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive and hands-on approach.
Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
