Graduate Analyst, Fixed Income - Challenger Investments
This is where a career in fixed income begins.
If you're genuinely curious about how credit markets work and want to build that knowledge from the ground up, this is where you start.
From day one, your analysis will feed live investment decisions. You'll work on real transactions, and have accountability inside a small, high-performing team. You'll be supported by senior mentors and real on-the-job learning - and with a strong track record of developing junior analysts, Challenger Investments is a place where careers are genuinely built.
The technical depth and professional network you gain here will stay with you throughout your career.
Mentoring from senior team members, flexible working, and benefits built around you, not just the role.
You're a final year student or recent graduate (within two years) with a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Maths, Engineering, or similar. You have a strong academic record and a genuine interest in fixed income. Beyond that, we're open. What will set you apart:
As an Analyst the work is collaborative, and impact driven - no two days look the same. You'll work across investment analysis, portfolio operations, and reporting. Your day could involve:
Getting involved in investment analysis - working alongside portfolio managers to explore opportunities across public and private Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and structured finance markets, including research, credit summaries, and market updates. You'll be learning how these decisions get made from the people making them.
Building analytical tools and models - developing and maintaining financial models to support deal analysis, cash flow modelling, and portfolio monitoring. You don't need to arrive with all of this - you'll build these skills on the job.
Supporting the broader team - preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, and getting involved in ad hoc projects, process improvements, and cross-team work. There's plenty of variety.
Challenger Investments is part of the ASX-listed Challenger Group - a leading provider of retirement solutions. Since 2005 we have managed fixed income investments for Challenger’s own balance sheet along with a wide range of institutional, wholesale, and retail investors.
Our team based in Sydney and London now manages A$17 billion in fixed income investments across four funds and multiple bespoke separate accounts, sourcing opportunities across public and private credit markets.
