About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Edge Infrastructure Technical Architect to own the blueprint, hardware selection, and end-to-end deployment strategy for our next-generation edge systems. In this role, you will treat a massive physical footprint as a Cloud-Native Product - architecting distributed edge nodes and smart networks that are consumable entirely via code (IaC) and protected by automated security pipelines.

What You'll Lead
- Strategic Architectural Vision: Define the technical roadmap for Edge and IoT platforms, evaluating and prototyping cutting-edge hardware and cloud integration patterns.
- Edge & Network Design: Architect scalable compute and storage configurations optimised for rugged retail environments, utilising technologies like Red Hat OpenShift and Linux.
- DevSecOps & Automation: Build robust CI/CD deployment pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitOps, Ansible) and design automated "Policy-as-Code" vulnerability scanning layers.
- Enterprise IoT Strategy: Standardise and govern enterprise-scale communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP) and integration frameworks with Azure IoT Hub backends.
- Enterprise Mobility Platforms: Design ruggedised Android solutions and scale management platforms like Omnissa across logistics and retail centres.
- Technical Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact with global hardware vendors, while mentoring a high-performing squad of infrastructure engineers.
What You'll Bring
- The Background: 5+ years of dedicated infrastructure architecture, technical design, or systems engineering experience.
- Large-Scale Track Record: Proven experience deploying large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems across multi-site, edge, or retail footprints.
- The IaC & Pipeline Mindset: Hands-on expertise building and maintaining automated infrastructure provisioning setups and CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions).
- Deep Domain Authority: Specialised design knowledge in at least two core areas: Physical Edge Hardware Lifecycles, IoT Data Pipelines (MQTT/Azure IoT Hub), or DevSecOps Security Integration.
- Cloud & Security Savvy: Solid comprehension of cloud-native paradigms, zero-trust network topologies, and security compliance frameworks.
