Together, we combine deep technical expertise with a strong national presence, delivering high-quality solutions across the Energy & Resources, Renewables, Infrastructure, and Property sectors.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Electrification capability and is seeking a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer – Primary HV, Earthing and Renewable Energy to play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering high-quality technical outcomes.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership position suited to an engineer who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to lead, mentor, and grow our junior engineers.

You will be instrumental in delivering complex substation, renewable energy and storage projects, advancing technical standards, and supporting the continued growth of our sustainable energy portfolio.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of high-voltage primary systems for substations, renewable energy generation and energy storage systems, from concept through to detailed design
Mentor a team of engineers, fostering capability development and technical excellence
Oversee project delivery to ensure outcomes meet quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements
Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems and deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions
Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and technical frameworks within the business
Engage with clients and stakeholders, providing trusted technical advice and leadership

Requirements

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Extensive experience in high-voltage primary design for transmission and distribution substations, industrial facilities, renewable energy generation and/or energy storage
Strong expertise in earthing design (highly regarded)
Proven track record in technical leadership and project delivery
Ability to operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on technically
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence clients and stakeholders
