Jetstar’s Operations Delivery team are the nerve centre of our airline. All of our team members within our Operations Delivery team play a critical role in managing the logistics compliance and safety relating to daily movements of our aircraft, team members and passengers.
The Opportunity
As a Dispatch Operations Officer, you will perform flight following, flight dispatch & Centralised Load Control functions in accordance with the Flight Dispatch and Load Control Policy procedures.
Reporting to the Manager Dispatch Operations, you will work as part of an energetic and experienced team to ensure the functions of flight following & flight dispatch are performed and maintained to a high standard of safety and efficiency in compliance with the requirements of the Company Operations Manual.
To be successful in this role, you will:

Interpret aviation weather forecasts and reports.

Interpret approach minima printed on terminal charts (with respect to forecast weather requirements)

Identify alternate/holding provisions to be reflected in the flight plan.

Interpret, collate and distribute relevant weather NOTAMs and other operational messages in support of company flight operations.

Maintain surveillance of operational aspects of en route and terminal (Destination, alternate and contingency aerodromes) conditions about ongoing suitability for company operations & air traffic flow management schemes.

Communicate with operational stakeholders

Weight & balance calculation for Jetstar Airways B787 fleet (manual & system)

Manage Centralised Load Control functions & ability to maintain Jetstar Airways “Approved Load Controller” instrument

Have extensive experience and knowledge of airline operations and aviation legislation (desirable)

Hold a flight dispatch licence or PPL/CPL, Flight planning/Aviation related Degree or previous Flight Dispatch experience (desirable)
