About the RoleReporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Manager will work closely with the South Australian leadership team, including the State Lead, Commercial Manager, and Operations Manager. This position oversees a team of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators managing a portfolio of 5-8 projects simultaneously across various stages of delivery.
The Senior Project Manager takes complete responsibility for the effective management of all project phases, from initial establishment through to handover and closure. This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills to maximise contributions from all project participants and deliver optimal outcomes for stakeholders. As a senior member of the team, you will work independently with minimal guidance, while also mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues through coaching in all aspects of project management.
Key Responsibilities
Establish project budgets in accordance with client requirements and manage and forecast expenditure to achieve completion within budget
Establish detailed overall project programmes that set clear milestones and objectives to ensure successful project delivery
Lead RFP (Request for Proposal) preparation, scope writing, tendering processes, contract negotiations and award
Lead value engineering, buildability analysis, and critically review design and documentation to minimise risk and maximise outcomes
Administer contracts with clients, consultants and suppliers, ensuring proper execution and maintenance in accordance with legal requirements to protect commercial interests of both the client and Jones Lang LaSalle
Establish and maintain anticipated cost reports, including cash flows and accruals, ensuring invoices from vendors are submitted in a timely manner to both clients and JLL accounting
Implement and maintain JLL Health, Safety and Environmental systems and ensure a Safety and Environmental Plan is in place and actively complied with
Manage completion of project close-out, including financial close-out and contractual documents (as-builts, deeds of release, client training, etc.)
Validate and oversee deliverables produced by Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers
Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues in all aspects of project management
You Will Have
A degree in a relevant Project or Construction Management related discipline or related field with 10 years' experience, or 12 years experience relating to Design, Construction, or Project Management
Demonstrated ability to confidently manage project delivery from inception to closure
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project and experience in managing cost reporting systems
Strong understanding of the legal environment for projects in respect of planning, commercial aspects and delivery constraints
Proven ability to carry out commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants and authorities within established limits of authority
Experience working with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001 and Environmental Health and Safety legislation generally
Detailed understanding of different delivery methods including Project Management, Construction Management, Managing Contractor and Warranted Price, Lump Sum, etc.
