Do you enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for conserving native ecosystems? Join our Parks and Natural Areas team and play a hands-on role in rehabilitating and protecting the Shire's urban bushland.
As a Bush Regenerator, you will work as part of a dedicated team delivering bushland restoration programs across a variety of natural areas. From weed control and revegetation to seed collection and habitat improvement, you'll help maintain and enhance some of the Shire's most valuable environmental assets.
- Undertaking bush regeneration and environmental restoration works
- Identifying and controlling environmental weeds using a range of techniques
- Assisting with revegetation, seed collection and planting programs
- Applying herbicides in accordance with legislative and Council requirements
- Operating and maintaining horticultural equipment, tools and vehicles
- Assisting with erosion control and bank stabilisation works
- Maintaining work records and reporting maintenance requirements
- Working safely and contributing to a positive team environment
- Providing professional and courteous customer service to residents and stakeholders
You are passionate about environmental conservation and enjoy practical outdoor work. You have experience in bushland regeneration and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes while working safely and collaboratively.
- Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent)
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Chemical Users Certificate – Spray Unsupervised (AQF3 minimum)
- NSW White Card
- Minimum 3 years' experience in bush regeneration or a similar field
- Demonstrated experience in weed identification and control, revegetation, seed collection and native plant identification
- Experience in the safe handling and application of herbicides
- Experience operating horticultural plant and equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- MR Driver Licence
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Horticultural qualifications
- Experience operating 4WD vehicles and medium rigid trucks
- Permanent full-time position
- 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight
