Job Summary:
Join HUB24 as a Software Engineer and help shape the future of financial advice in Australia. In this role, you will design and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that empower advisers and improve access to financial guidance. You’ll work within our Platform Engineering team, contributing to innovative, cross-product initiatives focused on modernisation, efficiency, and AI enablement, while collaborating with experienced engineers in an agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable applications and microservices
- Develop and optimise APIs for seamless system integrations
- Contribute to AI-driven engineering practices and innovation initiatives
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with best practices
- Improve system performance, scalability, and data access patterns
- Participate in code reviews and continuously uplift engineering standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support system maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements
- Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer
- Strong experience with Node.js (Nest.js desirable) and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript)
- Experience with relational (SQL Server) and non-relational databases (e.g. MongoDB)
- Exposure to cloud environments (GCP preferred)
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and scalable applications
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI tools (e.g. Copilot, Claude)
- Golang or .NET (C#) experience
- Background in financial services or fintech
