Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Casual Technical Officer, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining our cutting-edge creative facilities, supporting students during practical sessions, and ensuring a safe and organised environment. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives on problem-solving, technical precision, and fostering an inspiring learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

Maintain and oversee the campus's cutting-edge film, music, and audio equipment, ensuring all facilities are fully operational and organised.
Provide technical support and guidance to students during practical sessions, fostering a safe and creative learning environment.
Monitor and uphold Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, addressing faults promptly and ensuring compliance across facilities.
Assist with administrative tasks, including responding to inquiries and coordinating equipment bookings and maintenance schedules.
Contribute to campus activities by supporting promotional events and showcasing the institute's state-of-the-art facilities.
Collaborate with academic and technical teams to enhance resource availability and improve the student experience.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate can demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

Strong technical expertise and industry experience in audio, music production, and/or filmmaking, including proficiency in studio and location equipment, lighting, camera, and grip workflows.
Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience in audio or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
A passion for supporting students to reach their potential, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and student support.
Outstanding organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Flexibility to work evenings and Saturday's as required.
