National Pharmacies has an exciting opportunity as Business Intelligence Developer on a Fixed Term - Full Time, 12-month maternity leave cover.
The Business Intelligence Developer is accountable for designing, developing and maintaining business reporting and analytics solutions that enable data driven decision making across the National Pharmacies retail operations. The BI Developer works closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, ensure data accuracy, and drive continuous improvement in reporting capabilities.
About the Role
Business Intelligence Development & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations using Tableau and other BI tools.
- Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reporting for retail and business operations.
- Automate and optimise reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
- Provide meaningful insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support ad hoc reporting and analytical requests.
- Collaborate with analytics and data engineering teams to ensure data quality and relevance.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging BI technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to reporting and visualisation capabilities.
- Ensure BI solutions align with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to BI standards and frameworks.
About You
You are a curious and analytical professional with a passion for turning data into business value. You enjoy, solving complex problems, and creating reporting solutions that influence decision making.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining business reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions within retail or enterprise environments.
- Advanced Tableau development skills and experience with other BI platforms such as Power BI.
- Strong data analysis, visualisation, and storytelling capabilities.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting data-driven decision making in a retail environment is highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Industry certifications in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, or related technologies are desirable.
