## Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our team and contribute to a diverse range of land, construction, and spatial data projects. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in survey measurement, land information systems, and site planning, combined with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams. ## Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and analyse data to accurately determine, delineate, and position tracts of land, natural features, constructed works, and underground infrastructure
- Undertake research and contribute to the development of surveying and photogrammetric measurement systems, cadastral systems, and spatial land information systems
- Plan and design land subdivision projects, coordinating and negotiating details with local councils, government bodies, and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Advise architects, engineers, environmental scientists, and other technical professionals on surveying methodologies, mapping requirements, and spatial information systems
- Compile, evaluate, and interpret survey data in accordance with relevant codes of practice, producing detailed reports on survey measurements, land use, and tenure matters
- Prepare site plans, survey reports, and associated documentation required for conveyancing, land ownership, and property development purposes
- Manage and maintain spatial data and geographic information systems (GIS), ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and currency of all recorded information
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, providing clear technical guidance and ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met on time
- Monitor survey works on site to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications
- Review and interpret legal documents, title records, and historical survey data to support boundary determination and land tenure assessments
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior surveyors and field crew, supporting knowledge-sharing and professional development within the team
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics, or a related discipline
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Licensed Surveyor with the relevant state authority in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in cadastral, engineering, or land surveying in a professional environment
- Proficiency in surveying instruments and software, including total stations, GNSS equipment, and CAD or GIS platforms
- Strong understanding of Australian surveying legislation, land tenure systems, and relevant codes of practice
- Proven ability to compile, interpret, and present complex technical data clearly and accurately
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing professional reports and site documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
## Preferred Qualifications
- Membership with the Institute of Surveyors Australia (ISA) or Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI)
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) or 3D laser scanning technologies
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialisation in a relevant field such as land development, urban planning, or hydrographic surveying
- Familiarity with drone or UAV-based survey methods and related data processing workflows
- Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure, mining, or subdivision projects
