About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Calypso Business Analyst to support critical trading and post-trade platforms within a complex financial markets technology environment. The successful candidate will work across Calypso Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office modules, supporting the end-to-end trade lifecycle for multiple asset classes including Rates, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Repos.
This role requires strong business analysis expertise, capital markets knowledge, and hands-on experience with the Calypso Trading & Risk Management Platform. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and vendors to deliver scalable, resilient solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Act as a hands-on Business Analyst across Calypso Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office modules.
- Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Work closely with business users to understand trade capture, risk, valuation, collateral management, clearing, settlement, and confirmation workflows.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, configuration requirements, and system solutions.
- Perform impact assessments for change requests, regulatory initiatives, and platform upgrades.
Calypso Platform Support
- Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle from execution through confirmation and settlement.
- Work with Calypso workflows, trade attributes, pricing components, reference data, and business configurations.
- Partner with architects and developers to ensure alignment with Calypso best practices and platform capabilities.
- Support platform enhancements, upgrades, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support asset classes including Rates, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Repos.
- Analyse and support post-trade functions including clearing, settlements, confirmations, margining, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ensure appropriate controls and lifecycle processing are maintained across products and workflows.
- Support regulatory requirements, operational resilience, and risk management initiatives.
Testing & Delivery Support
- Participate in functional testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and solution validation.
- Validate business workflows and test scenarios, including exposure to Calypso Automated Testing Tool (CATT).
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business users, technology teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Communicate complex business and technical concepts effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Provide clear documentation, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience Calypso Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with the Calypso Trading & Risk Management Platform.
- Experience across:
- Front Office (Trade Capture, Pricing)
- Middle Office (Risk, Valuation, Collateral Management)
- Back Office (Confirmations, Settlement, Accounting Integration)
- Knowledge of Calypso configuration, workflows, pricing, and reference data management.
- Exposure to Calypso Automated Testing Tool (CATT) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Experience with Rates, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Repo products.
- Knowledge of post-trade processing including settlements, clearing, reconciliations, and margining.
- Understanding of financial markets regulations, trade reporting, risk controls, and operational resilience requirements.
Business Analysis & Tools
- Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation skills.
- Experience with:
- JIRA
- Azure DevOps
- Confluence
- SharePoint
- Visio or process modelling tools
- Experience supporting UAT and business validation activities.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of system integrations, interfaces, and message flows.
- Familiarity with market data feeds, reference data, and downstream platforms.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and analysis is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Professional Business Analysis certifications are advantageous.
- Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or financial services organizations.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
