About the role:
You’ll support the delivery of air science advice that informs EPA’s regulatory and strategic decisions. Working within a specialised team, you’ll contribute to understanding and managing air quality issues to help prevent harm to the environment and community.
In this role you will:
Support the provision of scientific advice to inform regulatory and strategic decisions on air quality and air pollution
Assist with analysing scientific evidence and contributing to statements of opinion used in compliance and enforcement activities
Communicate scientific and technical information in a clear and accessible way to a range of audiences
Contribute to projects, research and analysis to support EPA’s understanding of air pollution issues
Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders, while developing your technical capability
Skills and experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in science, environmental science, engineering or similar, ideally with a focus on air
Foundational experience in environmental science, preferably with some exposure to air quality or pollution
Good understanding of environmental risk assessment principles
Understanding of air quality and air pollution concepts, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative team environment
