Make a lasting difference for young people, families and community!

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Therapeutic Youth & Family Coordinator to join our team in Maningrida, a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory.

This is an opportunity to work alongside young people, families, Elders and community stakeholders to support positive life pathways, strengthen family relationships and reduce involvement in the youth justice system.

Working within a culturally responsive and trauma-informed framework, you will provide intensive case management, therapeutic support and early intervention programs that empower young people and their families to achieve sustainable outcomes.

About the Role

The Therapeutic Youth & Family Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting at-risk young people through culturally safe, strengths-based and restorative approaches.

The position focuses on four key service areas:

Youth Diversion Case Management
Therapeutic Family Support
Early Intervention Programs
Restorative Practice and Community Engagement

About You

You are an experienced practitioner who is passionate about supporting young people and families to create positive change.

You will bring:

Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Counselling or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in case management with vulnerable young people and families.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
Experience facilitating restorative approaches and working with complex family systems.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a commitment to cultural safety.
Knowledge of youth justice, diversion, child and family support or early intervention services.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote community setting.
A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain relevant clearances.

Competitive salary package $102,000 - $110,000 plus superannuation
Fully subsidised shared housing provided

These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala’la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model.
