Full Job Description

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our Insurance group in our Brisbane office.

Providing clients with legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and third party contribution
Regularly reviewing applicable case law and legislative changes
Conducting effective legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercial and legally accurate advice
Attending settlement conferences and mediations
Instructing counsel at court applications and trials
Managing a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectively
Effective communication with stakeholders to achieve valued customer experience outcomes
Developing an understanding of client operations and strategy
Managing prospective client relationships
Continual professional development and managing MCLE requirements

About you:

2+ years' PQE
A desire to be an integral member of a strong, cohesive and down to earth team
Excellent work ethic and problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
A genuine commitment to customer experience
Previous exposure to Business Development and a natural ability to build strong client relationships
Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
Interested in establishing a long-term successful career with Colin Biggers & Paisley
Ability to relate to people at all levels and effectively work in a team
Commercial acumen
A strong, plain language communication style
Previous experience in managing workers' compensation common law claims highly desirable
