Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and South West regions.
The Role
The position is based predominantly in a call room environment where you will be conducting assessments with people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing information and making referrals to accommodation and service providers. In this role, you will also conduct face to face appointments with clients who may be experiencing a range of complex issues including domestic violence, substance use, mental health and suicidal ideation.
- High volume service requiring your ability to build rapport quickly and engage clients via telephone

Working closely in a small team environment supporting clients

Daily entry of client notes into client management software

Working on a rostered basis; 150 hours per four-week period, with shifts including, 8.30am-4.30pm, 9am-5pm and 11.15am-7.15pm, with one Saturday and/or Sunday shift per month.
Selection Criteria
-
Recognised Tertiary (minimum bachelor's degree) level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Youth Work, Behavioural Science and Aboriginal Studies, Community Services, or related disciplines. (Diploma qualification will not be accepted for this role).

1-2 years' experience in social services sector (for Level 4).

3-5 years’ experience in a similar role (for Level 5 role).

Demonstrated high quality assessment and interview skills.

Highly effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.

High emotional intelligence and resilience.
-
Demonstrated experience in engaging and working effectively with young people, individuals, couples, and families, who may be faced with multiple, complex issues.
