About Us

Samrat Indian Cuisine is a well-established Indian restaurant based in Adelaide, South Australia, known for delivering authentic, high-quality cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our growing team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Chef to lead and contribute to the preparation, cooking, and presentation ofIndian cuisine to consistently high standards. This is a hands-on, senior kitchen role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of Indian and contemporary dishes

· Design, develop, and update menus in line with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences

· Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands

· Ensure all food preparation meets strict hygiene, food safety, and quality standards

· Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen inventory

· Control portion sizes and minimise food wastage

· Collaborate with management on costing, pricing, and menu engineering

· Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation

Required Qualifications and Experience

With Qualification:

· Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification

· Minimum 1 year of post-qualification full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef

· If no trade qualification then a minimum 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Chef

All candidates must also demonstrate:

· Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team

· Strong knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety practices

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Desirable

· Experience in authentic Indian cuisine

· Knowledge of regional Indian cooking styles

Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Work Schedule:

· 8-hour shift

· Evening shift

· Rotating roster

· Weekend availability required

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)

Location: Magill Rd, Magill SA 5072
