Job Description:
The Mechanic Technician works within Maintenance Team ensuring on-time delivery of surface equipment as per operational demands. The Mechanic Technician improves maintenance related non-productive time ratio and improves maintenance efficiency of the Reservoir Performance assets within the Maintenance Base and at the Oil and Gas well sites. Reservoir Performance operates assets across the Wireline, Well Testing and Coil tubing and Fracturing Services.
The Mechanic Technician uses experience, proprietary maintenance manuals and standard work instructions to ensure the performance of the maintained assets. Our manuals contain considerable information, which is combined with our technician’s practical expertise and knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot failed assets. The Mechanic Technician reports their work within the relevant maintenance systems.
Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensure on-time delivery from a range of equipment including;
-
Proprietary skid and chassis mounted Wireline Logging units
-
Proprietary skid and trailer mounted Oilfield Stimulation pumps, mixers, blenders
-
Proprietary skid and trailer mounted coil tubing units
-
Heavy and light support vehicles
-
The above equipment being complete with deck engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, low voltage electricals.

Maintain assigned assets following maintenance programs outlined within a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Utilize Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labour costs and equipment maintenance. Update the system with entries such as movements for equipment traceability, work orders, parts used, time to maintain as some examples.

Improve the equipment reliability of the Division’s assets within the location.

Ensure all assigned equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in proper functionality and minimum failures.

Improve asset availability by reducing waiting for maintenance times.

Perform troubleshooting and repair of assets and participate in failure investigations.

Follow fixed-step training program and ensure personnel training is on schedule and accurately recorded.

Interface with Field Operations to provide mechanical knowledge to our operations at oil / gas wellsites. Advise users of correct operating procedures to prevent failures as well as assist in troubleshooting during failures.

Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the location to improve asset utilization, reduce cost of service delivery (CoSD), reduce downtime due to maintenance and to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
Qualifications and Experience:

Technical certificate (preferred diploma/ adv. diploma in engineering).

Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a Mechanic Technician

Preferable to be competent with Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, (or similar) diesel engines and transmissions.
