About the Role:
Aurizon is looking for a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Murrin Murrin Operations in WA on a 2 & 1 Roster flying out of Perth. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Aurizon’s mobile plant assets, ensuring their safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will work within a structured maintenance program, responding to planned and unplanned maintenance while upholding Aurizon’s commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on road trains and heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Conduct breakdown repairs and troubleshooting to minimise equipment downtime and maintain production targets.
- Inspect, test, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Complete component change-outs including engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance activities in accordance with OEM and site requirements.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information to identify and rectify faults.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and legislation.
- Collaborate with supervisors and leaders to optimise equipment reliability and availability.
About you:
Equipment Experience (Desirable)
- Kenworth 509s and 510s
- Road trains / Side tippers
- WA900 Loaders
- Hitachi Excavators
- CAT Graders
We are seeking individuals who have:
- Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent (Mandatory)
- Auto electrical diagnostic skills (Preferred)
- Experience in heavy diesel serving, mechanical maintenance and fault diagnostics
- Demonstrated computer and software skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and compliance with WH&S standards
- C Class driver’s licence (unrestricted or provisional)
