In this role, you'll:
- Deliver high-quality UI designs including wireframes, visual designs and interactive prototypes
- Contribute to the evolution of the organisation’s design system, including documenting new patterns and components
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to understand user needs, design requirements and technical constraints
- Plan and support user research activities such as usability testing and feedback sessions
- Participate in design workshops and ideation sessions to refine and validate concepts
- Ensure all design solutions are accessible, responsive and consistent across platforms including web, iOS and Android
- Translate business goals, analytics and customer feedback into clear user stories and measurable design outcomes
- Work closely with product, engineering and content teams to support agile delivery
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to iterate designs and reduce risk in decision-making
- Provide UX guidance on information architecture and content structure
- Design across Transport’s customer-facing digital products (web, iOS and Android), shaping how customers plan journeys, check departures and navigate the network
- Contribute hands-on to the Design System, including development of components, patterns, documentation and governance practices
- Deliver design outcomes that sit at the centre of the end-to-end digital customer experience
- Work within a cross-functional environment alongside Product, Engineering and Content teams, collaborating with other designers
- Contribute to design input across the full lifecycle from early problem definition through to delivery and iteration

About you
- Experienced in delivering end-to-end UX/UI design for complex digital products
- Proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and familiar with usability testing and analytics methods
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design and design system contribution
- Skilled at working within agile teams and translating insights into actionable user stories
- Strong understanding of platform guidelines for iOS, Android and web
- Analytical, with the ability to interpret research insights and apply them to design decisions
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder collaboration skills
- Able to balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints
- Demonstrated expertise using Figma and applying responsive and adaptive design principles
- Strong commitment to accessibility aligned with WCAG standards
- Applies design thinking to translate complex problems into clear and testable solutions
- Ability to think in systems, ensuring consistency across features and platforms
- Focus on user-centred design across journeys such as trip planning and fare understanding
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
