The Team & Role
The Graduate Midwife/Nursing Program is designed to support the newly qualified RM/RN in the transition from student to registered practitioner. Throughout the program the graduate midwife/nurse is expected to deliver clinical care that is consistent with Bayside Health policies and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards. The graduate nurse/midwife is accountable for maintaining knowledge and skills ensuring they work within their scope of practice to provide high quality care to patients and clients. The RM/RN works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes. This program involves a 9 month rotation in midwifery and a 3 month rotation in nursing.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to use basic computer software applications
- Clinical documentation skills using clear, concise and grammatically correct language
- Effective communication and the ability to relate to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
