Workshop Foreman
Lead the Floor at a Premium, Growth-Focused Joinery
Run the workshop. Set the standard. Build work that carries your name.
If you’re an experienced cabinetmaker who’s ready to lead — not just take instruction — this is a role where your standard sets the tone for everything that leaves the floor. Not rushed jobs. Not “near enough.” But high-end joinery, built properly, by a team that takes quality and professionalism seriously.
At Luna Joinery, the Foreman isn’t a title for paperwork. You’re the person who turns approved drawings into finished joinery the whole team is proud of — and the one who makes sure it’s done right, on time, every time.
About Luna Joinery
Luna Joinery has been delivering premium, custom joinery across Melbourne for over a decade. We specialise in high-end residential and architectural kitchens, wardrobes, and interiors for clients who care deeply about detail and finish.
Our vision is simple: to be Melbourne’s most respected joinery company, where every job reflects our name. We’re growing steadily, taking on more design-led, higher-value work, and expanding our team with people who want to raise the bar, not lower it.
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on role with real ownership of the workshop floor.
You’ll lead the day-to-day running of the workshop and a team of 4–6 cabinetmakers, machinists and apprentices — staying on the tools while keeping every job on spec and on schedule. You’ll take work from approved shop drawings through machining, assembly and finishing, then out to a faultless install on site.
This role suits someone confident on the floor and on site, calm under pressure, and organised enough to think a job ahead rather than react to it. You don’t just build joinery. You set the standard the rest of the team builds to.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the workshop floor and a team of 4–6, while staying hands-on yourself
Taking jobs from approved drawings through machining, assembly and finishing
Operating and overseeing the CNC, edgebander and panel saw
Holding every job to Luna Joinery’s quality standard — carcass, Blum hardware, finishes and fit
Carrying out and supervising premium installs on site to a flawless finish
Representing Luna Joinery professionally with builders and clients
Mentoring and developing apprentices and junior tradespeople
Refining how the workshop runs so jobs flow smoothly and efficiently
Being a visible example of the standard we expect across the business
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who already operates at a senior level:
Solid hands-on experience in high-end custom cabinet making and joinery (we value proven skill over formal paperwork)
Experience leading a workshop or install team
A strong, careful installer who delivers a clean finish on site
Confident reading and building directly from shop drawings
Competent on a panel saw and edgebander — CNC experience a bonus (we’ll train the right person)
Exceptional attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
A problem-solving mindset and the maturity to lead by example
Current driver’s licence and white card
Why Join Luna Joinery
Lead premium projects you can genuinely be proud of
Join a growing, design-led business with a clear vision
Be trusted to own the floor and shape how the workshop runs
Work with a team that values professionalism, accountability, and high standards
Competitive pay that reflects your experience and skill
This Role Isn’t for Everyone
If you cut corners when no one’s watching, get rattled when a site throws you a curveball, or treat “good enough” as good enough, this will feel like hard work.
We’re building a team of people who take pride in being reliable — people who finish what they start, communicate properly, lead by example, and care about the name that goes on the work.
