You're a leader focussed on outcomes, delivering valuable insights to inform strategy, planning and enhanced customer outcomes.
You're all about insights and this role will allow you to drive evidence-based decision making to optimise the network and understand demand drivers. It's data and research with impact you can see.
In this role, you'll:
Lead the oversight of strategic modelling, analytics and demand insights across NSW Motorways, providing the evidence base that informs key decisions on customer outcomes, program priorities and network development. Working across a complex, matrixed environment, you’ll coordinate modelling activities to ensure consistent, high-quality forecasts and analysis that align with strategic objectives and reflect the latest data, assumptions and customer needs.
You’ll provide expert advice on traffic modelling approaches, methodologies and tools, ensuring outputs are robust, credible and delivered within agreed timeframes. A key part of your role will be translating complex modelling outputs into clear, actionable insights for a range of stakeholders, helping shape strategy, planning and investment decisions.
Collaboration will be critical as you build strong partnerships across the agency and Transport, other government agencies and industry partners to ensure access to the latest data, tools and best-practice approaches. You’ll lead and develop a small, high-performing team while fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration and continuous improvement, positioning your function as a trusted source of insight across NSW Motorways.

About you
You’re an experienced leader in strategic modelling, analytics or transport planning, with a strong understanding of demand modelling in a traffic environment and its application in complex infrastructure or transport environments. You bring expertise in modelling methodologies, data analysis and forecasting, and you’re confident applying these to inform strategic and operational decisions.
You’re highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and modelling outputs and translate them into clear, meaningful insights for non-technical audiences. You’re comfortable working across multiple data sources and tools, and you understand how to bring together different inputs to create a reliable, single source of truth for decision-making.
You’re a strong communicator and collaborator, able to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and enjoy identifying opportunities to improve how data and insights are used to deliver better outcomes.
