We're growing our Victorian team and have a genuine opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to step into an established market presence. You'll join a team that already has runs on the board, reporting to the State Business Manager and working alongside a fellow ASM who knows the landscape, so while you'll take full ownership of your own territory, you won't be starting from scratch. This is a field-based sales role, with most of your time spent on the road meeting builders, developing customer relationships and driving new project opportunities, supported by regular time in our Croydon office to stay connected with the Victorian team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a relationship-led, high-value role for someone who's commercially sharp, technically confident, and ready to take their sales career to the next level with a brand that builders already respect and specify.
Win new residential builder clients and develop a pipeline across Melbourne metro and regional VIC
Manage and grow key accounts with volume and custom builders
Present at every level: site supervisors, procurement managers, boardroom
Quote, negotiate, and convert staircase contracts and projects
Provide confident technical advice across our product range: MDF, American Oak, custom timber, steel, glass
Maintain sales data: forecasting, margin analysis, pipeline
Represent Stairlock at builder events, trade expos, and HIA/MBA forums
Build your professional profile and Stairlock's visibility through LinkedIn engagement
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years in B2B sales or business development — construction or building products preferred
Demonstrated success selling to medium-density or custom residential builders
Skilled negotiator with genuine commercial acumen; you understand margin, not just price
Able to read building plans and translate them into product solutions
Strong systems user: NetSuite or similar ERP/CRM, BCI Central, Excel, Outlook
Solid working knowledge of the Melbourne and regional VIC builder landscape
Full driver's licence
National Police Clearance
Background in stair, door, window, framing, or building systems is a genuine advantage. Experience training builder sales teams or running display sessions is a bonus.
