About the Role:

Newington College is seeking an organised, people‑centred People & Culture Coordinator to join our collaborative People & Culture team. This role is the first point of contact for staff and plays a critical part in supporting the employee lifecycle across our five campuses.

Working closely with the People & Culture Director and Business Partners (K–6 and 7–12), the Coordinator provides high‑quality administrative and operational support, helping to ensure a positive, compliant and seamless experience for staff within a purpose‑driven educational environment.

The role is primarily based on site during term time, with some flexibility available by agreement during non‑term periods.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Act as first point of contact for People & Culture enquiries via HR Inbox, triaging and escalating as required
Provide high‑quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including contracts, variations, etc.
Coordinate recruitment administration: job ads, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, checks and correspondence
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive staff experience
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (JobAdder, Synergetic, HR Onboard, Litmos)
Support payroll processes by ensuring timely and accurate submission of pay‑related data
Assist with compliance activities including WWCC, accreditation checks, VEVO and WHS‑related administration
Prepare reports, meeting documentation and assist with People & Culture projects and process improvement
Assist with project and other duties as required.

About you:

To be successful for this opportunity you will bring:

Strong administrative experience in HR or a similar environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence working with HR and payroll and learning new technologies
High attention to detail and strong time‑management skills
Capacity to manage competing priorities while supporting a busy team
A collaborative, professional and people‑focused approach
Experience in a school or regulated environment (desirable, not essential)
A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
