WSP is seeking an experienced Construction Verification (CV) Surveillance Officer – Buildings to support delivery of a major tunnel infrastructure program. This role is focused on the verification and surveillance of building-related works associated with tunnel operations, including maintenance and operational facilities, substations, and internal tunnel structures.
About the Role
As a CV Surveillance Officer (Buildings), you will play a key role in ensuring construction quality and compliance across building structures that support the operation and maintenance of the T2D tunnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor construction activities, focusing on specific risks identified at surveillance planning meetings, ensuring agreed surveillance activities are completed
- Complete and file detailed surveillance records (including photographic evidence), and communicate any significant issues to the CV Zone Lead in a timely manner
- Verify that proposed dispositions in Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) have been satisfactorily implemented on site
- Monitor and report on workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Liaise effectively with the Builder’s site representatives
- Identify and support resolution of non-conformances
- Attend Hold Points and Witness Points
- Support the CV Construction Lead and CV Engineers
About You
You are an experienced construction professional with a strong background in building works within major infrastructure environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade or technical qualification in a relevant construction discipline
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in building construction structures within road, tunnelling, or major infrastructure projects
- Experience with industrial or commercial building construction
- Experience in South Australia and/or tunnel projects
Skills & Attributes
- Strong understanding of construction quality, compliance, and surveillance practices
- Experience working with hold points, inspections, and NCR processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality outcomes
