Join our Aegis Shoreline catering team as a Kitchen Hand and make a meaningful difference every day in a supportive and rewarding environment.

About Location

Aegis Shoreline is a new, premium Residential Aged Care home located in North Coogee, near Port Coogee Marina.

Developed with an innovative, modern design providing a resort lifestyle in a state-of-the-art, safe and comfortable environment, Aegis Shoreline’s residents will receive quality care and enjoy a host of well-appointed amenities including:

an in-house cinema,
beauty salon,
hydrotherapy spa,
library,
café,
alfresco courtyard areas,
quality furnishings and
lounge areas where visitors can mingle with their loved ones in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Available rooms consist of single rooms, with their own private ensuite, as well as a limited number of shared rooms, ideal for couples or those seeking companionship, all excellently appointed with nurse call service as standard.

For residents with Dementia, Aegis Shoreline offers a Memory Support Wing with a specifically designed care environment.

Aegis Shoreline is in truly a unique location, adjacent to the beach and overlooking picturesque Cockburn Sound.
It provides a beautiful panorama of Garden, Carnac and Rottnest Islands with many bedrooms, lounges and sitting areas having ocean views where the sunset can be enjoyed, every day.

Located in the rapidly developing Shoreline Estate in the suburb of North Coogee, just south of Fremantle City, Aegis Shoreline is readily accessible from Cockburn Road and offers easy access to the Fremantle Region and all nearby services.

About Role

As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

Enjoys working with the elderly.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

You should possess the following:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
A knowledge of food safety.
Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
