About Our Team:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.
The Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service (CAHDS) is a statewide service supporting children and young people under 18 years of age, along with their families, who experience ongoing difficulties with attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
CAHDS works with children and young people who have a confirmed diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and who are currently receiving treatment for challenges related to inattention, hyperactive behaviour, or impulse control.
What CAHDS Provides
CAHDS conducts comprehensive multidisciplinary assessments to identify a child or young person’s strengths and challenges, and to assess for other mental health conditions that may co occur with ADHD. The service does not provide ongoing treatment; instead, it delivers detailed assessment outcomes and management recommendations, working in partnership with referrers and other services to support ongoing care.
Assessments may include input from the following disciplines:
