About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Regional Outreach Clinical Coordinator to join us on a 0.8eft part-time, fixed term opportunity until June 2029.
You will work at the forefront of coordinated cancer care, connecting children and families in regional Victoria with specialist oncology services closer to home. This fixed-term position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across a state wide shared care network, working alongside leading multidisciplinary teams at Monash Children's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, and nine regional health services.
About Us
The Monash Children’s Cancer and Haematology Centre (MCCHC), located within Monash Medical Centre (MMC), is a key component of Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH), providing care to approximately 30% of Victoria’s paediatric cancer patients. The service is also the primary treating team at Monash Health for children requiring outpatient management of haematological conditions.
The MCCHC brings together a dedicated paediatric haematology and oncology service within a purpose-built inpatient ward and adjoining day treatment centre. This integrated model supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care for children and their families across the cancer and haematology continuum. The service continues to provide a comprehensive suite of ambulatory services, including medical oncology and haematology specialty clinics, nurse-led clinics, multidisciplinary clinics, and a day treatment service.
With capacity for 16 inpatient beds and 12 ambulatory beds, the service is designed to meet current and future care demands. The contemporary model enables the incorporation of advancing therapies and technologies, ensuring the Centre evolves in step with the rapidly changing healthcare landscape and continues to improve outcomes and experiences for paediatric patients and their families.
About You
You are an advanced-practice paediatric oncology nurse with a passion for delivering equitable, high-quality cancer care to children and families beyond the tertiary setting. You bring exceptional clinical judgement and communication skills, enabling you to navigate complex care coordination across diverse health services with confidence and compassion.
You will have:
- Extensive paediatric oncology experience, including administration of anti-cancer and supportive therapies, with accreditation or equivalent experience in a tertiary oncology setting
- Advanced care coordination skills across complex, multi-site patient pathways, with demonstrated ability to develop individualised shared care models in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Graduate Diploma or Master's degree in paediatric or oncology nursing (or working towards), reflecting a commitment to advanced and evidence-based clinical practice
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities, with experience building effective relationships across tertiary, regional, and community health settings
