The Opportunity
At Vocus, we’re building the networks and platforms that power critical connections across Australia. We’re looking for a Solution Architect – B2B to design and govern end-to-end technology solutions that enable complex outcomes across our Business, Enterprise, Government and Wholesale segments.
Reporting to the Principal Architect – B2B, you’ll sit at the intersection of architecture and delivery—translating business needs into scalable, secure and commercially sound solutions across our BSS platforms, integration layers and cloud environments.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence major deals, transformation programs and the future shape of Vocus’ B2B architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end architectures for complex B2B solutions, including enterprise, government and wholesale use cases
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear design artefacts (solution blueprints, integration models, data flows)
- Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture principles, standards and target-state roadmaps
- Evaluate build vs buy vs configure decisions with a focus on long-term value and delivery risk
- Design for performance, scalability, security and compliance
BSS / OSS Expertise
- Provide deep domain expertise across Order Management, CPQ, Billing, CRM and Service Assurance
- Support complex quoting, provisioning and assurance workflows
- Drive platform reuse and contribute to reducing technical debt
- Guide configuration of platforms like Salesforce and ServiceNow in line with best practice
Integration & API Architecture
- Design API-led and event-driven integration patterns
- Define integration standards across APIs, messaging and data pipelines
- Work with middleware and API gateway technologies (e.g. MuleSoft)
- Enable seamless partner integration and end-to-end service visibility
Delivery & Governance
- Partner with BAs, delivery leads and engineers to ensure design feasibility and alignment
- Support estimation and early-stage solution shaping for business cases
- Participate in architecture governance forums and review boards
- Maintain reusable patterns and contribute to architecture standards
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to product, sales and delivery stakeholders
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes
- Engage vendors on platform capability and roadmap alignment
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years’ experience in telecommunications BSS, ideally across B2B, Enterprise, Government or Wholesale
- Proven experience designing solutions across BSS platforms, integrations and cloud/hybrid environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce, ServiceNow, MuleSoft and API technologies
- Expertise in REST APIs, event-driven architecture and enterprise integration patterns
- Experience delivering solutions across complex, multi-stakeholder programs
- Strong solution design skills with the ability to produce high-quality artefacts
- Solid understanding of cloud-native and hybrid architectures
- Knowledge of security principles including zero trust, identity and data protection
- Strong judgement across build vs buy vs configure decisions
- Collaborative, pragmatic and outcome-focused
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence and guide across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive mindset with a focus on solving complex challenges
