The Opportunity:

Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
PW8 $109,077 - $118,821 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

The Corporate Accounting team within the OCFO is responsible for management accounting functions across the Institute, including annual budgeting, program profile planning, course fee setting and financial sustainability strategy. The team provides critical financial advice and reporting to senior leaders, the Board and external stakeholders, ensuring strong financial governance and long-term sustainability.

Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Senior Management Accountant plays a pivotal role in shaping Holmesglen’s financial direction. You will lead complex budgeting, forecasting and modelling processes, oversee critical revenue streams, and provide high-quality financial insight to support strategic decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

Operating as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will work closely with Executive stakeholders, contributing to key initiatives, enhancing financial capability across the business, and ensuring strong financial governance and performance.

This role sits at the centre of the Institute’s financial operations and is suited to an experienced professional who thrives in large, complex and dynamic environments.

As a Senior Management Accountant, you will:

Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support scenario planning, decision-making and business initiatives.
Own and manage government and student revenue functions, including funding models, State contracts, Fee Help and fee-setting processes.
Prepare and present high-quality financial reports, analysis and insights to Executive leadership, the Board and Audit Committee.
Provide strategic financial advice on new initiatives, tenders, investments and organisational priorities.
Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and reporting frameworks, including business intelligence capability.
Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to enhance organisational outcomes.
Partner with stakeholders across the Institute to build financial understanding and support informed decision-making.

To be successful, you’ll have:

Degree and relevant postgraduate qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related and a CPA or CA qualification (or equivalency).
Demonstrated experience in management accounting within large, complex organisations (e.g. public sector, education, health or similarly structured environments).
Proven capability leading complex budgeting and forecasting processes at scale, with full ownership and accountability.
Advanced financial modelling and analytical expertise, including highly developed Excel capability.
Experience working with enterprise financial systems (e.g. TechnologyOne or similar) and business intelligence/reporting tools.
Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
Experience engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, with the confidence to provide advice and challenge where required.
Proactive, outcome-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WWCC and Police Check:

Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
