Job Description

Design, develop, test, and maintain applications, services, APIs, and libraries primarily using Rust.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software aligned with sprint objectives and business outcomes.
Build and maintain integrations with external systems, devices, and communication protocols.
Develop automated testing and contribute to improving software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and platform issues across development, test, and production environments.
Support Linux-based platforms and assist with software deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to improve development efficiency and reliability.
Assist with performance optimisation activities, including improving application responsiveness, resource utilisation, and system scalability.
Participate in code reviews and adopt software engineering best practices, including secure development and Agile methodologies.
Work with containerisation technologies such as Docker to support application deployment and operations.
Support software patching, upgrades, and dependency management to ensure platform stability and security.
Create and maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Commercial experience developing software in Rust.
Experience building APIs, backend services, and distributed applications.
Experience working with Linux operating systems and open-source technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation practices.
Experience with Git-based source control workflows.
Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
Understanding of software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and modern software integration patterns.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience working within Agile development teams.
