Full Job Description

What you'll do

As the Principal Program Officer, you will provide authoritative advice to senior departmental leaders and a broad range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive health workforce issues. You will lead the development of high-quality reports, submissions, strategic plans, consultation papers and communication materials to support informed decision-making across Queensland Health. Working collaboratively with State and Commonwealth agencies, health professions and key stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of workforce planning and policy frameworks, build strong partnerships to address workforce priorities, and support the planning, coordination and delivery of early career reform initiatives. You will also champion contemporary workforce practices, uphold Queensland Health's values, and actively contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:
Demonstrated ability to successfully apply project management approach to complex workforce planning and policy initiatives to achieve organisation wide outcomes.
Demonstrated knowledge of health workforce issues including the needs of key population and workforce groups, and the functions and operation of a complex health service delivery agency.
Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret workforce trends in relation to complex health system issues, develop high level health workforce policy and plans, and facilitate their implementation.
Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare briefings and reports of a substantial and complex nature.
Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise and engage with a range of government, industry and community stakeholders regarding the development of substantial workforce planning and policy initiatives. Highly developed negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to negotiate positive outcomes and establish effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
