ABOUT THE ROLE

Flexible: Work on site or from the comfort of your own home with seamless tech support to ensure smooth Telepsychiatry
Thorough patient intake process so key patient data is already available allowing focussed assessment and care
Reliable, experienced and efficient long-term administrative team taking care of all your non-patient needs
Access multidisciplinary support including psychologists, social worker and a mental health GP for holistic patient care

ABOUT US

Melbourne Mental Health is a service clinic located in the Inner East providing consultation rooms and administrative services for independent psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers to provide outstanding mental health services in a professional atmosphere of warmth and support. There is current availability for a like-minded psychiatrist who share our strong values and want to join our growing team.
Team: There are 8 psychiatrists, 1 mental health GP, 4 psychologists and 2 social workers located at Melbourne Mental Health.

Location: Prestigious Auburn Road (Hawthorn) provides easy patient access via public transport, ample street parking, nearby parking for clinicians and local shops/cafes.
Environment: There are 7 spacious consulting rooms over two levels with a comfortable waiting area on both floors. Additional facilities include a large meeting room and kitchen. Curated renovations and furnishings have been designed for exceptional comfort to enhance the therapeutic space.

We provide full turn-key service (logistics, booking, billings, typing, debt reconciliation, etc) so that you can focus solely on patient care and earn a healthy income without being tied down by administrative tasks.
New psychiatrists will benefit from an instant and large referral base (over 400 per month) formed by Dr Chau’s outstanding reputation, valuable clinical support and mentoring, practice efficiencies honed through nearly a decade of experience, and upskilling in ADHD, OCD, PTSD and addiction (if desired).
Experienced psychiatrists can maximise financial efficiency through astute secretarial systems, avoidance of inpatient admissions and opportunity for future equity buy-in and retirement planning.
In-depth support and orientation is personally provided by Dr Steven Chau to ensure you have a seamless experience in providing private patient care.
Optional monthly peer group meetings provide ongoing support, a deep sense of collegiality and help ensure best practices are always maintained.
Support team: Hand-picked, long-term team led by an experienced manager to provide exemplary and complete administrative support so you can practice with ease.
Systems: Full IT infrastructure and medical software suite with remote telehealth access, escripts and support for paperless environment-friendly digitisation.

ABOUT YOU

Ideal clinicians will have a strong desire to provide high quality patient care
A warm, empathic and friendly personality
Belief in the environmental and patient benefits of paperless health technology and openness to utilise these in their clinical work.
Experience/interest in ADHD is highly valued but not mandatory
Experience in eating disorders or child/adolescent psychiatry would be highly valued but not mandatory
An understanding of the value of being a part of a cohesive and caring clinical team
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
Specialist Registration with AHPRA
Professional indemnity insurance
Reside in Australia
Australian/New Zealand citizenship/residency
