Role Description:
Working across all aspects of the BAE LIF 145 Maintenance Organisation, the Maintenance Safety Support Coordinator is responsible for ensuring technical staff meet all requirements of the DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and uphold the highest safety standards in accordance with the BAE Integrated Safety Management System.
Core Duties:
- Investigate and Manage Site Aviation Safety Reports (ASR) / Aviation Issue reports, Product Safety Reports (PSR), ensuring investigations meet required standards and are completed within specified timeframes.
- Advise the Quality, Safety and Responsible Managers on aviation safety matters related to maintenance.
- Utilize Sentinel, Bowtie and other tools for trend analysis of aviation events, guiding safety management activities.
- Assist the organisation in implementing safety recommendations and actions arising from investigations and trend analysis.
- Act as unit Maintenance Aviation Safety Officer (MASO), liaising with Unit/Base Aviation Safety representatives as needed.
- Participate in aviation safety committee meetings, Aviation Hazard Review Boards (AHRBs), and safety committee meetings as directed.
- Additional tasks associated with the Management of the Lead in Fighter Part M and Part 145 Maintenance Organisation and Personnel, as directed by the Responsible Manager.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in a military aviation environment (desirable)
- Experience in an aviation maintenance, supervision and/or leadership role within a customer focused, support environment (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (particularly DASR M,145 & SMS)
- Broad Knowledge of Human Factors and their influence on aviation maintenance
- Knowledge of Safety and Quality Systems and their application in the aerospace industry
- Fixed Wing/Fast Jet experience (highly desirable)
- Aeronautical engineering/trade qualifications with extensive post trade experience preferably on military aircraft
- Has Completed the ADF Aviation Safety Officer Initial, or similar course (highly desirable)
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
