If you’re after impact, there’s no other organisation in Australia that delivers work on this scale.
Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.
In this role, you'll:
Working as part of a team delivering full‑stack application development, data‑driven solution design, cloud‑based services, ETL pipelines, and analytical capabilities that support Transport for NSW’s digital and analytical systems.
This role will see you contribute to the design, development and optimisation of data‑driven applications; support full‑stack development using modern front‑end and back‑end technologies; assist in database design and optimisation; implement cloud-based services on AWS or Azure; contribute to data analysis and reporting; support ETL and data pipeline development; participate in CI/CD practices; and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, with development opportunities across software engineering, cloud services, analytics integration, CI/CD, and scalable technical solution delivery.
You will build new ways of improving application performance, data accessibility, automation and insight‑generation in a rapidly evolving technical environment that requires balancing development and analytical responsibilities, integrating multiple systems and data sources, adapting to changing priorities, and applying innovative approaches to complex problems while working across matrixed teams.

About you
Your proficiency in full‑stack development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java), database management (PostgreSQL, Redshift, Athena), cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure), CI/CD practices, and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills formed across software engineering, data integration, analytics work and Agile delivery environments will see you excel in managing competing priorities, overcoming challenges related to system integration and evolving requirements, and bringing structured, high‑quality technical delivery to lead to secure, reliable and scalable applications that enhance Transport’s digital and analytical capability.
You’re recognized as an adept communicator, skilled at translating complex concepts, collaborating across teams, and supporting stakeholders, experienced in application development, cloud environments, data analysis, ETL processes, CI/CD, and contributing to multidisciplinary project outcomes.
