Location: St George Hospital, Kogarah
An Anaesthetic Trainee position at St George Hospital provides training in the specialty of anaesthesia guided by the training program of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. All sub-specialty units may be completed on the St George training scheme.
Training is conducted in a friendly supportive environment with supervision always available. Regular teaching, including preparation for exams, is provided including in the onsite simulation skills centre.
The case mix includes the following surgical specialties – cardiothoracic, vascular, orthopaedic, obstetrics/ gynaecology, neurosurgery, trauma, gynaecology, plastics, ear/nose/ throat, maxillofacial, urologic, breast/ endocrine, and some paediatric surgery. Most elective orthopaedic, hand and ophthalmic surgery is not performed at St George. The Department also provides services for cardiology, radiology, MRI and the endoscopy suite.
To be able to apply, the applicants must have at least four years post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent) at the commencement of the position.
