SRG are seeking qualified Project Engineers (Mechanical) for upcoming shutdowns across the East Coast of Australia at various Power stations. Opportunity for ongoing work and career development for the right candidates.
Your role as a Project Engineer (Mechanical) will see you working in a large NDT, Metallurgy and Engineering team within our Power Services division across various Power Station Major outages within the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley on a casual basis. Your responsibilities will encompass delivering technical support to Project Managers during substantial shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
Forming part of a skilled and high-performing team, you will have the support of a progressive and experienced management team and be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments.
Our teams love what they do, and when you’re working with us your day could involve:
Provide/coordinate Engineering, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Metallurgical solutions to common issues on boilers, turbines, and ancillary plant
Perform plant inspections as required
Ensuring adherence to pressure equipment regulations for clients throughout outage periods
Assist with the coordination of engineers, plant inspectors, and NDT technicians during plant outages and shutdowns, including emergency repairs
Compile technical reports based on inspection and NDT results
Develop inspection strategies and scopes of work
You will gain broad exposure in diverse operations while seeing the impact of your recommendations in sound decision-making. Additionally, you will assist engineers during the inspection, technical assessment, evaluation and reporting stages of the project
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Degree or certificate in Mechanical / Materials Engineering - Graduate Engineers will also be considered
AICIP qualification is desirable
Knowledge and experience with heavy industry such as Power Plants, Oil and Gas, or Process Industries
Risk and hazard identification and assessment experience
Australian working rights
Ability to pass a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen
