Waverley Council is looking for a proactive and collaborative Business Systems Analyst to partner closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand their needs and drive the effective use of our business applications.

The Role
-
Reporting into the ICT function, you'll be the connective tissue between our business units and our technology teams - ensuring that the systems we run and support serve the people who use them - our staff, our community.

This role is built on a strong capability with Technology One, genuine business engagement, and the instinct for problem ownership.

Partner with business teams to understand their objectives, challenges, and future needs

Analyse current processes and identify opportunities to enhance effectiveness through better use of business applications

Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technical teams.

Work closely with project teams to deliver system enhancements, upgrades, and new features
-
Act as a liaison between business users and technology teams to ensure solutions to meet expectations.

Support the optimisation, configuration, and adoption of core business systems.

Demonstrated experience supporting, administering and implementing solutions within Infor Pathway and/or TechnologyOne CiA/OneCouncil environments.
About you.
You're someone who can sit comfortably in a workshop with frontline staff in the morning and a technical design session with developers in the afternoon. You write clearly, think structurally, and you've got the patience to see a system improvement through from idea to adoption.
Essential Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
-
Project management experience, including the ability to gather and communicate clear business requirements
-
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong understanding of basic system engineering, object-orientated design, information risk and security guidelines and architecture standards.

Experience with project/task management tools (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet)
- Proven experience working with analysis / reporting tools
-
The ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications.
- Proven ability to document, develop and maintain IT operational policies and procedures, including the designing and documenting of detailed process flows, and the development of operational performance and quality metric standards and reports
- Understanding of and commitment to EEO principles
Desirable Criteria

Experience working in Local Government

A project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile Product Owner)
