Create your best future and join Westpac as an Executive Manager, Responsible AI.
What’s the role?
You’ll step into a high impact leadership role shaping how AI is governed across Westpac. As part of a newly established Responsible AI function, you’ll help build trust in AI.
Working at the intersection of AI, policy and risk, you’ll lead a significant part of the function, setting direction while staying close to delivery. You’ll partner with the Chief AI Office, risk, legal and compliance teams to embed practical and scalable approaches to managing AI risk.
This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up. You’ll define frameworks, establish clear guardrails and help create the core capabilities that support responsible AI at scale.
We’re hiring for two permanent fulltime Executive Manager opportunities – one based in Sydney, and the other flexible across our Australian office locations.
What do I need?
- Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level, driving enterprise‑wide strategy and execution
- Strong experience in AI risk, policy, legal, compliance or related domains
- Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles and the ability to translate them into practical, scalable controls
- Strong knowledge of AI and associated risks, including lifecycle, monitoring, and governance
- Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across complex, cross‑functional environments
- Strong analytical and decision‑making capability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes
