Lead the design and delivery of an innovative psychology internship program that shapes the future of mental health practice
Are you a Board-approved supervising Psychologist with a passion for program development and operational excellence? MindSpot Academy, as part of Macquarie University Health, is seeking a clinical leader to facilitate the successful implementation of a funded supervision program supporting Provisional Psychologists through their 5+1 internship.
This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical supervision expertise with program coordination, stakeholder management, and funding compliance within an internationally recognised translational research group.

Comprising a research clinic (eCentreClinic), a national online mental health service (MindSpot Clinic), and a state-based virtual mental health service (MindSpot GP), MindSpot serves more than 35,000 patients each year.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 June 2028 with the possibility of contract renewal. The role is fully remote, with a laptop provided, and applications are welcomed from candidates across Australia.
About the Role
As the Psychology Coordinator – Internship Program, you will facilitate the successful implementation and completion of the DoHA supervision funding grant, ensuring program design, compliance, data collection and reporting are delivered to the highest standard. Key responsibilities include:
Facilitating the design and implementation of the internship program compliant with both funding body requirements and AHPRA 5+1 guidelines.
Providing AHPRA-compliant clinical supervision (Principal and/or Secondary, individual and/or group) and training of Provisional Psychologist Interns, targeting the specific learning objectives and AHPRA core competencies of the 5+1 internship.
Supporting clinical skill growth and intern transfer of learning from training, workshops and supervision to practice through a variety of activities and materials throughout the internship year.
Completing regular assessment of Provisional Psychologist skills pursuant to the Core Competencies, via observation of clinical work and documentation, and providing learner-focused feedback and development plans designed to facilitate skill acquisition.
Accurately recording and reporting supervision and internship data as required by Macquarie University Health and funding bodies, and ensuring ongoing improvement of these systems.
Providing employment mentoring support and advice to Provisional Psychologist Interns enrolled in the program.
Building and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including universities, other service and education providers, in relation to the employment and internship of MindSpot interns.
Assisting in the development, implementation and review of MindSpot's 5+1 internship training and supervision systems.
Working collegially with the Learning & Development team in continual review of learning materials and LMS processes.

About You
You are an experienced, AHPRA-registered Psychologist with Board-approved supervisory credentials who thrives at the intersection of clinical supervision and program management. You bring strong operational skills, a detail-oriented approach to compliance and reporting, and a genuine passion for building stakeholder relationships that support the next generation of psychologists.
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in psychology and registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Board-approved eligibility to Principally supervise 5+1 interns.
At least five years of clinical experience delivering evidence-based, person-centred mental health interventions across diverse populations, treatment modalities, and levels of clinical acuity.
A minimum of two years' experience delivering supervision in accordance with AHPRA requirements to Provisional Psychologists undertaking an internship pathway.
Proven ability to engage and develop supervisee psychologists through diverse supervisory approaches that foster clinical skill development and reflective practice, supported by effective formative feedback and review processes.
High-level knowledge and practical application of the 5+1 Internship Guidelines, Supervision Guidelines, Code of Conduct for Psychologists, and the Core Competencies for Psychologists.
Demonstrated leadership across clinical and operational contexts, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders and build and maintain strong collegial relationships across external networks.
