Mackay Regional Council is seeking a skilled and safety-focused RMPC Multi-Skilled Operator to support the delivery of maintenance works on state-controlled roads under the Road Maintenance Performance Contract (RMPC).
Working within our Infrastructure & Operations team, you will operate heavy vehicles and civil construction plant while undertaking road and drainage maintenance in a compliance-driven, safety-critical environment aligned with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) standards.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who bring hands-on civil construction experience, strong plant competency, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HR trucks and civil construction plant within road maintenance environments
- Deliver road and drainage works including earthworks, pipelaying, concreting, and bitumen activities
- Undertake works in accordance with RMPC and TMR standards and specifications
- Support safe traffic management practices at work sites
- Conduct pre-start checks and maintenance of plant and equipment
- Work collaboratively with Supervisors and crew to deliver scheduled maintenance programs
- Accurately complete required documentation (e.g. timesheets, plant records)
- Contribute to a strong safety culture and minimise environmental impacts
About You
You are an experienced civil operator who thrives in a structured, compliance-focused environment, with proven capability working on road construction or maintenance crews.
Essential Requirements
- HR Class Driver Licence (mandatory)
- Construction White Card
- Traffic Control Ticket
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction and road maintenance
- Proven competency operating plant and heavy vehicles
- Ability to work safely within a risk-managed, compliance-driven environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- Experience working under RMPC or TMR contracts
- Plant tickets and experience (e.g. loader, roller, skid steer, grader, backhoe)
- Experience in concreting and drainage works

- Base annual salary from $65,644.49 + applicable allowances
